DURAtest is designed to allow users to test their duress handsets either from a Java enabled PC connected to the Ascom messaging system or directly initiated from the handset. Alarms generated during the test are stopped from being treated as actual alarms until the test is completed. Tests performed on the PC display each test alarm on the visual interface on the PC to confirm that the alarms were triggered correctly and tests performed on the handset inform the customer of each triggered test alarm by sending a message through to the handset.

Testing a handset through DURAtest will confirm that each of the duress options are working correctly and ensure each user understands how to trigger a duress alarm from the allotted handset.
